Hi, I’m Candice
I created the Calm Club Collective because I know what it feels like to have a busy mind, a busy life and very little space to slow down.
As a former teacher, I spent years working in education and pouring into others, until I hit burnout. I knew something needed to change.
Yoga became one of the ways I learned to slow down and reconnect with myself. Over time, I also found support in other simple practices: meditation, journaling, breathwork, mindfulness and intentional rest.
What started as something I needed for me has become something I want to share with others.
I’m a Canadian and British citizen with Jamaican heritage, and my experiences living + working across different cultures have shaped how I think about belonging, representation and creating spaces where people feel welcome.
My background in Education and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) shapes how I teach. I believe there is no single right way to take part, and everyone deserves to feel comfortable.
I also know that yoga and the wellness world can feel intimidating; like something you need to be experienced or “good at” before you can belong.
I wanted to create something different.
The Calm Club Collective is a space where Calm is warm, accessible and realistic.
There’s room for a laugh, a quiet moment, a good day or a wobbly one.
I’ll bring warmth, curiosity and plenty of encouragement. You can bring whatever kind of day you’re having. Through movement, mindfulness and other simple wellness practices, we’ll find moments of calm that fit into real life.
Because Calm Doesn’t Have to be Complicated.
Accessibility & Inclusion at the Calm Club Collective
There’s Space
for You Here
If you’re neurodivergent, have a disability, or find unfamiliar spaces and groups difficult, Candice welcomes a conversation about what would help.
Start with your preferences and access needs. You can ask questions without sharing a diagnosis, and share only what you feel comfortable sharing.
Not sure what you’ll need? You can start with:
“Can we talk through the class together?”
Know what to expect
Ask about the format, group size, pace, instructions and what happens when you arrive. Advance information may help you decide whether a session suits you.
Your sensory experience
Tell Candice if lighting, sound, busy spaces or other sensory factors affect your comfort. Ask what can be adjusted for the session you have in mind.
Choice in how you join in
Talk about observing first, taking a pause, or a different way to participate. Check which options are possible before you commit.
Practical access
Ask about step-free entry, seating, toilet facilities or other physical access requirements. Clear details matter.

A Few Things You Might be Wondering
-
You can begin with mindful moments, reflections, Candice’s videos or a conversation. Yoga is only one of the ways to connect with Calm Club; choose the starting point that interests you.
-
Not at all. Calm Club is for anyone looking for a more accessible, realistic approach to wellbeing. That might mean adapting for a disability or neurodivergent need, feeling more comfortable as a beginner, or simply finding ways to fit movement and calm into a busy life.
Candice’s experience with SEND shapes her understanding of different needs, but the bigger idea is simple: wellness should be able to meet you where you are — not ask you to rearrange your life to fit it.
-
Expect a welcoming, relaxed space with gentle guidance and plenty of choice. You’ll be guided through movement and breath at a comfortable pace, with options to adapt, pause or rest along the way. There’s no pressure to keep up or get a pose “right” — you’re encouraged to listen to your body and take part in the way that feels right for you.
-
Wear something comfortable that you can move easily in — no special yoga clothes required. Leggings, joggers, shorts, a T-shirt or whatever helps you feel comfortable are all welcome. Layers can be helpful, and bare feet are common, but the most important thing is that you feel at ease.
